THE WALKING DEAD

What would you do if you woke up from a coma to realise that the end of the world has occurred and that your town has been overrun by flesh eating zombies?
That's what happens to good ol' Rick Grimes a sheriff's deputy who was shot on duty and fell into a coma to finally wake up in the middle of a zombie apocalypse to find his wife and child are nowhere to be found.

Well that's pretty much the story for "The Walking Dead" but don't let that turn you away. I watched the first episode and was hooked that I ended up watching the whole first season on a Saturday afternoon, (well it was only 6 episodes) nonetheless it was 6, hour long episodes of greatness. Think "28 Days Later" as a weekly show.

Its quite refreshing to have another type of monster on our screens due to the over indulgence of the "Vampire" from TV shows such as "The Vampire Diaries" which does not compare to the greatness of "True Blood" and the "Twilight Saga." So I was pretty excited to discover it was zombies that eat and tear into anything and anyone. In regards to the cast to me it seemed like pretty unknown actors. Except the woman above, I knew her face but I couldn't recall the show, eventually the light bulb came on...Its the woman from "Prison Break." The guy in the middle is from that show that was supposed to be the new "Friends" called "The Class" c'mon you remember that show the one that no one watched and got cancelled halfway through the 2nd season.

So it's a fight for survival to reach safety and shelter but its a TV show so you no its not as easy as it sounds. If you like gore and zombies heads getting blown off with plot twists or even if you like the "Call of Duty" zombie game modes then your gonna love this.

Catch "The Walking Dead" on FXUK for UK viewers
and AMC for US Viewers
