E3 2012

E3 is the worlds largest gaming conference where game developers annually come together to show off the latest titles and innovations that will soon hit our shelves. This year I watched the live coverage on Youtube where developers such as Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Ubisoft, EA, Konami and others came to exclusively show us the new developments they have been making.

As a Playstation fanboy I was completely blown away by Sony's press conference which revealed footage of  the newest titles exclusive to the Playstation 3 which included, Beyond: Two Souls, God Of War Ascension and The Last Of Us.

Microsoft exclusives showed footage from Halo 4 (that game I really have no care for) and the new Gears of War Judgement (again another title i have no care for. Call me biased I don't care) however they managed to show the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise which will be available on both the PS3 & Xbox360. I'm a big Lara Croft fan, (not for reasons you may think...you dirty perv) I've been following the game for years but with competition from other adventure/action/exploration titles such as Uncharted, creators new they had to step it up.

Now Im sure most of the lads mainly residing in the UK were awaiting the EA (Electronic Arts) press conference...me not so much. But I wont leave you guys hanging. During the EA press conference most men were awaiting the reveal of...FIFA13

A live demo was shown of FIFA 13 on the Xbox360 using the connect with an exclusive add-on feature of voice recognition. It was revealed that players could make substitutions without having to pause the game and could substitute by using voice recognition like a real manager would. They could also control players on the field using the same technology...sounds insane. Take a look at the FIFA13 demo

During E3 2012 it was also announced that there would be both a Dance Central 3 and Just Dance 4 due for release. With Usher performing to announce the Dance Central 3 title exclusively for the Xbox 360 and Flo Rida performing to announce the Just Dance 4 title for the Xbox360, Wii & PS3.

The titles on the night which stood out for me were The Last Of Us which looked like a very gritty and violent action adventure game which looked liked I was watching a movie. As well as this the revealed title Watch Dogs created by Ubisoft was the dark horse of the event so far. With viewers drawing comparisons to Grand Theft Auto (I guess) where you have the ability to freely roam around the city shot people, hack calls and drive cars caught everyone's attention. These are now becoming less like games and more like interactive films and I love it. Check out the gameplay trailers for both The Last Of Us and Watch Dogs
