One of my favourite shows at the moment has to be SCANDAL. Recommended by a friend and being constantly bombarded with Tweets on my timeline and memes on Instagram I decided to give Scandal a watch. Scandal is a political thriller starring woman of the moment Kerry Washington. I always say there is a BGM (Black Girl of the Moment) that dominates Hollywood.
The last BGM was Zoe Saldana who literally was in a new film every 3 months and now Kerry Washington is that girl. With a hit prime time show on ABC, the star of the latest controversial film by the great Quentin Tarantino "Django Unchained" (Which you all need to see by the way) and quoted President Barack Obama's favourtie actress, Miss Washington has come along way since her role in "Save The Last Dance"
Scandal surrounds itself around the life of Miss Olivia Pope who's character was inspired by Judy Smith the founder, president and CEO of crisis management firm Smith & Company. Olivia Pope is an ex Whitehouse employee who worked very closely with the President in his campaign for presidency. Oliva now runs her own law firm but she is not a laywer or your convential one you might say. She is more of a fixer, a damage controller, a "Gladiator in a Suit".
Clients come to her office with problems they need fixing and she and her trusty team gets them out of these problems. Dealing with murders, affairs, kidnappings Olivia Pope and her team get the job done by any means necessary. But the beauty of Scandal is that while each episode usually focuses on a new client with a trickier problem there's far more deeper and darker secrets concerning Miss Pope and her team which unfold as everyone has a past.
The writing team at Scandal team have been doing an excellent job creating great storylines and suspense leaving you wondering WHAT THE FRACK...JUST HAPPENED??? Combined with a great cast and story, Scandal has the Twitter universe buzzing and is definitely one to watch. So if you haven't already tuned I recommend you do so.
